Angles

Today in Maths I learnt about angles.  I know that there are acute angles, right angles, obtuse angles and straight line angles.  I learnt how to use a circle to identify types of angles. I have brought my circle home to show you my learning for today.

Family Stories

Next Week (week 4) the children will be writing about a story that has been shared about themselves or people in their family. For example I can still remember the day that my daughter at age 4 decorated her room with an entire container of baby powder. It took me weeks to get it completely vacuumed up!! Could you please talk with your child about a story that you or they remember. We will be asking the children to write these as narratives so the final piece of writing may be a little embellished!! We think these stories are an important part of our families oral history. We are looking forward to hearing and reading your children stories.

Congratulations!

Ka pai to our certificate recipients this week. We are proud of the way you have shown the Learner Powers.

Pizza Fractions

This week we have been talking about fractions. We have been learning about the parts of fractions. The denominator is the bottom number, it tells us how many pieces make up the whole. The numerator is the top number in the fraction and tells us how many pieces there are - it counts the number of pieces. On Friday we had fun making and cutting up pizza to show 1 whole, half, quarter and eighths. We had even more fun eating the pizza!! Yum!

Future Masterchef

Well done to Holly who is working towards being a future Masterchef.  Thanks to her Mum for sharing these photos.  I hope T3R will get to sample your wares very soon.

Digital Safety

Yesterday John Parson came and spoke to our students about making great choices when they have an online presence.  The students learnt about the importance of not giving out personal information and having avatars or masks to represent themselves.  Keeping myself, family and friends inside my blue safety circle was a message John repeated throughout his talk.  Please talk to your child about what they learnt to help reinforce these very important messages.
