Week 10

READING

This week I am going to be exploring bees, crocodiles and frogs depending on which group I am readingwith.  I might come home with some interesting and cool facts about the animals in my text. We are going to be learning about some graphic organisers to help us record our learning.  Mrs Newcombe and Miss Taylor will put them onto the blog.  Please ask me about my learning.

Week 8

This week in T3R we are writing a descriptive piece about this house.  Today we talked and wrote about the house and the moon.  Over the coming days we will be talking about the garden and path leading to the house.  We would love it if you could talk to your child about this picture and give them some WOW words they can use in their writing and share with others as part of the writing process.  I was blown away by the quality of the children's writing today.  they can be very proud of their efforts so far.

Week 7

We have been doing some fantastic writing about our best body part. Here are some of our stories:

The Best Part of Me

My belly is as wobbly as jelly and as smelly as a garbage truck also as shelly as a shell on the beach. Also my belly is round like a circle, so is my belly button. My belly is squishy because it is empty. Also it is cute like a dog. It is small like a mouse that likes cheese. Also it’s got freckles that sparkle like stars.

By Jay

The Best Part of Me

My heart is ruby red and it is in my chest. My red heart beats slowly and sometimes fast. My heart helps me stay alive. My heart also pumps blood all around my body. My heart booms like a drum very loudly.

By Shanae

The Best Part of Me

Do you know what the best part of me is? It starts with an ‘h’, it’s my heart because it’s like a love heart. It also bumps. It helps you live and it might feel yucky. It might look light pink. That’s why my heart is cool.

By Silver

The Best Part of Me

Today I am going to tell you about my favourite part. My favourite parts are my legs. I have midgey bits on my legs. I have a faint spray of freckles.  My legs are a light, light brown colour. When the sun hits it, it goes brownish black and makes it darker. When I move back into the shade it turns back to light, light brown. I also love them because they have lots of bones and the calve bone is my favourite. My legs have lots of muscles.

By Amelia

The Best Part of Me

Have you ever thought about the best part of you? Well today I am going to be writing about that. My eyes are beautiful, elegant and wonderful because they shine in the sun. My eyes are dark brown and they help me see.

By Ellie

The Best Part of Me

The Best Part of Me is my nose. My nose is pale with a sprinkling of freckles. It is a triangle shape with two holes at the front. On the tip of my nose there is a bump. I love my nose because it can do all sorts of things. My nose can wiggle. When I wiggle my nose awesome things happen like swimming. I can do five sneezes in a row. They always annoy my family because they are so loud and noisy. I can touch my nose with my tongue, legs, feet and hands. I can also smell good and bad things, My nose is as smooth as a pencil. It is as small as a rubber.

By Holly

The Best Part of Me

My mouth is the best part of me because I can make funny cat noises and dog noises. My sister gets annoyed and I can scream like my sister., whistle like a bird, purr like a cat..

By Darcy Ella

The Best Part of Me

My nails are the best part of me. With my nails I can colour a cat and I can colour a dog. My nails help me to eat. My nails help me to write. I can colour my nails. My nails are little. I love my nails.

By Mai

The Best Part of Me

My eyes are the best part of me. My eyes are black. My eyes are as black as obsidian. My eyes help me to read a book. My eyes like seeing the stars at night.

By Best

The Best Part of Me

Do you know what is the best part of me? It starts with an ‘e’. It is my eyelashes because they are black like a haunted house also they are very long. They are very useful because they keep the dust out of my eyes. I have a thousand of them. My eyelashes help wash water when I have something in my eyes. When my eyelashes are in the sun they reflect and they go sparkly.

By Hana

The Best Part of Me

Do you know what the best part of me is? It begins with ‘e’, the middle letter ‘y’ and the last letter is ‘e’. Okay I will tell you, its my eyes. The colour of my eyes is dark brown and it has a little bit in the middle of my eye. The outside of my eye is white. There are some funny things called eyelashes around my eyes. The shape of the outside of my eye is the shape of a lemon. I have two circles in my eye. The big brown one is the first dot and there is another black dot on the brown one.

By Lexie.

The Best Part of Me

My ears are soft like dogs fur. I can put diamonds on my ears like a princess in a movie. My ears can be bright pink and pale. I can make quiet noises with my ears.
I like my ears so much because I can hear Mum or Dad or Rob.

By Mae

The Best Part of Me

My favourite part of my body is my legs. When I am running my legs go fast then when I want to slow down they slow down pretty quickly. My legs are really strong. They are the most important for walking. They are in a line.

By Matthew

The Best Part of Me

Do you know what my best part is? It starts with an ‘e’. It is my eyes. My eyes are brown. There’s a circle in the middle centre of my eye. It’s black in the middle of my eye like an oval. If I didn’t have any eyes I will crash into cars then I couldn’t see anymore. I have white on the outside. The funny bit of me is my eyelash on my tip of my eye. Some eyes can be different colours like green, blue, black. I like my brown eyes. I chose this part because I can see anywhere. If I didn’t have eyes I would not see beautiful things in the world.

By Sienna

The Best Part of Me

I am Ben, The Best part of me is my legs because they help me bend and help me walk fast and run fast. Legs help me balance and they help me walk to the park. They have bones in them as well. And the last thing is I love my legs.

By Ben

The Best Part of Me

The best part of me is my legs.

By Fraser McGregor

My Legs

My legs wear long pants. I look like a 8 year old. I look like a Year 4! I can bend my legs. I can stretch really far and look taller. I can kick balls. My legs make me walk everywhere, make me jump, make me walk backwards, reach everything, make me walk forwards, make me walk sideways, make un. I can kick a ball really far.

By Brandon

My favourite part of my body is my teeth because you get rich by getting two dollar coins from the tooth fairy. You can also get chocolate coins. Chocolate coins are yum but be careful they might melt. Your teeth grow little then big just like a human. Teeth live in your mouth. Teeth can change colour. They can turn yellow or white. White if you brush them and yellow if you do not brush them. You can wiggle your teeth but be careful they might fall out. Teeth are cubes that are white or yellow. That is why I chose teeth.

By Darcey

The Best Part of Me

Do you know the best part of your body? Well I do! What? My eyes. Why? Because my eyes help me see whatever is blocking the way. My eyes look like brownie brown. I chose my eyes because if you don’t have them you will bump into stuff. I am the only one in my family that has dark brown eyes.

By Faith

Do you know what the best part of me is? It’s my eyes. My eye colour is hazel green. My eyes sparkle like diamonds. I have sparkly eyelashes that hang over my eyes. I have small eyes like my cat. I can see people with my eyes. My eyes tell my brain what is happening I can blink. My eyes smell weird. Without my eyes I wouldn’t be able to see. My eyes are very, very sparkly. I have black dots on my eyes. They help me see things. I can blink one time and then not blink for 40 seconds and blink again. No one else in my family can do it. My eyes are awesome.

By Teagan

The Best Part of Me

My name is Libby and I am going to tell you about my favourite part of me. Your brain is white in the inside and white like a skeleton. Did you know your brain sends messages to the thing that hurts. It looks really funny in so many ways.

By Libby

The Best Part of Me

My best part of my body is by muscles because they help me carry things. If the thing you carry is too heavy the muscles will send a message to your brain and your brain will organise it so your muscles are strong enough to carry the thing that is too heavy. My muscles are strong. They are everywhere in my arms, legs, mouth, feet. They are big and strong.

By Aymeric

The Best Part of Me

My favourite part of my body is my heart because if it stops beating then I will die because I need my heart. My heart is as red as a rose. Sometimes it means you’re in love. It’s inside my body. My heart is pretty. My brain is my second favourite part of my body. I like it because it helps me breath. I like my heart because sometimes it means you are in love.

My favourite part of me is my face. It is as awesome as a motorbike. My face is as cool as Batman and as funny as a cone.

By Josh

My Eyes

I like the colour of my eyes. They are brown. I can see everything like beautiful butterflies. Eyes are an important part of your body. Eyes are sensitive to sunlight so you wear sunglasses. You can read a book, watch movies and see different shapes.

By Trinity

The best part of me is my feet. Do you know why? Because I can run. I am the fastest runner in my family. I can stand up with them. My feet have toes too. I can do nail varnish on my feet. I love my feet. I can walk with them. On the top of my feet are legs.

By Macy

By Emily

I like my hands because if something is heavy my hands are helpful. My hands are cool. My hands can get tired. My hands are amazing. I cant live without my hands. My hands are good at swinging. My hands are good at holding things. My hands are full of energy.

My Liam

The Best Part of Me

I think my brain is the best part of me. It looks pinkish with channels scattered around. The channels are shallow. It is divided into three sections. It doesn’t look like what it is. I like my brain because it is my nerve centre and computer. It helps me think at home and at school. At school it helps me with literacy, reading and writing. At home it helps me with everything. At school it’s like a super computer that knows everything. I think that if we didn’t have brains we would be dumb. I have read from a book that if you unfolded your brain it would be more than 2.5 times bigger than it is when it is sitting in your head. It also makes me say nice things to other people when it feels like it. It is protected by my skull so it doesn’t get damaged.

By Gideon

The Best Part of Me

Today I am going to tell you about my eyes. My eyes are as blue as the sea. They sparkle like diamonds. People say that my eyes look beautiful. I can cross my eyes. My eyes are very useful because I can see. I can make my pupils big and small. I love my eyes because I can see lots of rainbows and lots and lots of stars.

My Family Tree.

As part of my learning this week I need to find out some information about my extended family.  Can you please help me by writing down the names of my paternal and maternal grandparents?  Below is a photo of the family tree I will be using.

Marty's Maniacs

Find the name of 3 animals, birds or insects that might be found in a rainforest.  This will help me to make connections to the book I am reading.

The Best Part of Me

This week in T3R we will be writing descriptions about a part of our body that we think is our best part. We would love it if you could have a discussion with your child about a part of their body that they think is the best part. It could be their eyes, hair, nose, elbow, knees, legs, lips etc. The children will be describing this body part in detail and explaining why they believe this is 'The Best Part of Me'.

Thank you for discussing this writing with your child.
