Science with Mr Nicol

We were lucky enough to have some science sessions with Mr Nicol in Week 6.  We had lots of fun learning about how our bodies work.

Some of the things we learnt were...

  • About body parts and where they belong in the body (Silver)
  • The heart isn't shaped like a heart it's a blob (Holly)
  • We have acid in our tummy to disintegrate our food into little pieces (Josh)
  • The lungs are inside our body (Laura)
  • The heart is really powerful because it pumps the blood all round your body (Aymeric)
  • Your spine helps all your body parts to move (Ben)
  • There are veins through your body that help take the blood back to the heart (Georgia)
  • The brain sends the message to your bones to move (Ana)
  • Your brain tells your body when it's hurt and to move away if you can (Darcey)
  • Some reflexes aren't controlled by the brain, they just happen (Gideon)
  • Tingles are caused by blood running out of your fingers (Charlotte)
