Writing Week 8
This week in T3R we are writing a descriptive piece about this house. Today we talked and wrote about the house and the moon. Over the coming days we will be talking about the garden and path leading to the house. We would love it if you could talk to your child about this picture and give them some WOW words they can use in their writing and share with others as part of the writing process. We were blown away by the quality of the children's writing today. They can be very proud of their efforts so far.
Sport with LHS
On Friday we had sport coaching with some Year 13 students from Lincoln High School. This was a fantastic way for our students to make connections with these students.
Koru Art
We have been looking at the Koru Fern and we have been practicing drawing the koru pattern. This week we are going to use our drawings to create a piece of art that shows who is in our family. We will be drawing a koru for each family member. We can't wait to share our finished artworks with you.

Family News
This week for writing we will be working on some short writing activities. Our first writing task is called 'Family News'. The children will be given the opportunity to write about something that is happening in their life, it may be a family birthday, a trip or holiday (that they have had or are looking forward to), a special visitor, an activity, a tooth falling out or a new addition to the family (a new baby or pet). We will be completing this writing at school however in preparation for it you could ask your child:
What special family news would they like to write about?
Who is this news about?
When did it happen?
Where did it happen?
Why is this special family news?
How do they feel about it?
