Pukeko Maths

Pukeko's were in hot demand in T3R today as we worked together to solve maths problems.  We had to use lots of different strategies to solve the problems.  Mrs Newcombe and Ms Robertson thought we did some amazing thinking.

Ngati Moki Marae

Today Team 3 Red had an amazing trip out to our local Marae. After we were welcomed onto the Marae we shared our Mihi's and then learnt more about the local area and the importance of Lake Waihora to the local Iwi. We then got the opportunity to use the rakau and make up our own pattern. After lunch we were introduced to the different uses for harakeke and even got to weave our own putiputi. Thank you to Fiona for making sure we all had a fantastic time. We certainly learnt a lot!
